Cesena! 🐚

After spending the night at Roberta’s house, we woke up at 9:30 am and went to get coffee at a small cafe that Roberta likes. Katie and I got a coffee that has chocolate in it, and it was probably 3/4th whipped cream and chocolate syrup at the top and a giant shot of espresso at the bottom. It was interesting. In Italy, they bring a clear liquid in a shot glass with the coffee, so Roberta and Katie go on to tell me that it is tradition to take a shot of vodka with your breakfast, and I believed them! So we cheers and I shot half of it back, and they just busted up laughing. It was so funny, and I will never forget it because, honestly, Europeans drink so much that I wouldn’t doubt it was true! What a good unplanned April Fool’s joke!

We then walked around the city of Cesena, and Roberta showed us the castle, and we walked through the city center and the park! It was such an amazing town that didn’t have any Americans in it, so it was really nice to be in an actual city that was truly Italian!

WE THEN HEADED TO THE BEACH! It was the second place I’ve ever been to the beach at, and we spent hours walking around the piers and boats in the canals of Cesenatico!

We also went to lunch, and I had the most amazing gluten-free pasta I’ve ever eaten. It was my favorite meal I ate all weekend, besides gelato, of course!

I absolutely loved Friday. It was so much fun!!

We then went home after spending hours on the beach, and I took a nap until 11 pm. The girls were getting ready, and we went clubbing at about 12:30 am. It was really interesting! We stopped at a bar for 1 Euro shots and met a lot of Roberta’s old classmates! Italians don’t really dance at clubs, but the club in Cesena was in an old theatre, and it was so neat. They had three stories of theatre outlooks, and I had a really fun time (I’m not sure if that description makes sense, but it was really rad).

β€’β€’ I want to say that Roberta and Katie are so much fun and such beautiful people inside and out. I learned a lot about them this weekend, and I really appreciated them letting me join in on their weekend together πŸ™‚ Β β€’β€’

We got home at about 4 am, and I called Dakota to say hello and then went to bed at 5 am in the morning!!
I honestly felt like this weekend in Cesena was the most relaxing weekend I’ve had traveling, and it was so nice.
