A weekend in Breck

The beginning of February 2026 is giving me a glimpse of what my life looked like from 2017–2019: so much fun and a little bit of chaos.

This past weekend, I spent time in Breckenridge with Gabe and his parents. Gabe and I went out to dinner Friday night and wandered through the snow sculptures, which felt like the perfect way to kick things off.

On Saturday, we skied at Copper. The snow was actually pretty decent, considering the current conditions in Colorado. We skied for a couple of hours before heading back to Breck.

Once we were back, we celebrated Gabe’s upcoming birthday with cake that his mom made, and it was so good. A blueberry lemon cake with homemade frosting and crushed cookies on top. Just writing this makes my mouth water. After cake, we spent some time in the hot tub and sauna before grabbing sandwiches at Bird & Cow with his mom. Then I hit the road back to Denver.

I came home early to pack and get ready for my Sunday flight, since I’m heading to Florida for work this week. Before leaving, I decorated the house with streamers and balloons so Gabe would feel extra loved while I’m away for his birthday. I also made sure to grab his free birthday Bundt cake (Nothing Bundt Cakes gives you one on your birthday, and we absolutely love them). 🎂

I’m writing this now from my flight, feeling incredibly grateful to be living such a busy, beautiful life.
