Pre Trip Thoughts

kate and me in bars (2)

I depart from the States in roughly a week, and I am looking forward to my new adventure in the Czech Republic. I cannot wait to share with you everything I experience, and I hope that you enjoy reading about it all!

I am sure you are wondering what the picture has to do with me leaving, but Kate, my childhood friend in the picture with me, is traveling to study abroad in the same city and same school as me! I am looking forward to this part of my trip so much. Kate is the first friend I had in life (we were only a couple of months old when we met), and we ended up going to different schools until college, so we slowly lost touch throughout many years, but we are now back in contact. I am excited to travel the world with her and hoping we do not have to take more pictures in jail like the one above πŸ˜‰

This will be my very first time living far away from home, and I believe this will be such a great opportunity for me to discover more about other cultures and so much more about myself. I am nervous, scared, excited, and READY to finally leave!

I hope to get a lot of things out of my study abroad experience and grow throughout my time away, but one of the most important things to me is to not lose what and who I have back at home, so please keep me updated with your lives as I update you about mine!

I do ask that you keep me in your prayers when I travel (please). I am so excited to see how my faith grows while I am away, and even though many people look at living in another country as a way to grow alone, I am looking at it as a great way to strengthen my relationship with God even more.

Now that you have a little background on where I am going, who will be a part of my travels, and how I feel about leaving, I hope you are just as excited as I am to experience some of this trip with me!

  1. Enjoy your study abroad semester! I know Kate and Josh both really enjoyed theirs! And, enjoy the Czech Republic! I am full-blooded Czech and we took a family vacation there back in 2005 and really enjoyed it – it’s a beautiful country!
