Headed Home to Prague One Last Time!

Barcelona – Sunday

Wake-up call was 8 am for us… but naturally, due to being college students on the weekend, we slept in until 9 am! We were checked out of the hostel at 10 am and locked our bags in the basement lockers for the day!

We headed out to Park Guelle, and it was really sunny and hot today! We were in pants, and I was burning up. The park is up a massive hill, and it was a good workout to even get to it. Then we spent so much time walking around inside and seeing more of the designs that the artist did in the park.

The views from the park made it totally worth going to! It was of the city and then the ocean! It was stunning. I think Barcelona is extremely similar to California in the sense that there is the ocean on one side, then the city, and then the hills! It’s absolutely beautiful!

After the park, we picked up some fresh fruit and walked our way to the metro! Then we stopped in the square by our hostel and got lunch!

Lunch for us was three tapas and then a Spanish rice dish with seafood in it. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. I think Spanish food was probably in my top two in life. It was so yummy.

We were asked to sit outside and were invited to sit with a couple from Stockholm, Sweden! They had three kids around our age, and we had a good discussion. They were in Barcelona because the woman’s friend’s 50th birthday is today, and the friend is one cruise that lands in Barcelona! They came to surprise her, and it made me happy to hear how excited they were.

The couple left halfway through, and we were joined next by a Scottish rugby team! They had just won a tournament on Saturday and wanted to get beers. We talked to them for about 30 minutes! They were wonderful and I had an amazing time catching up with them. They explained rugby to us and were telling us about how the United States has a good team, and they see us becoming really competitive in the sport with that team! They were impressed with what they’ve seen in America, and it was nice hearing people talk about it in a good way!

So overall, I decided I’m going to be visiting Scotland and Sweden sometime in the future!!

After lunch, Tay and I went to the beach, laid down, and napped on the benches for about an hour. We then headed back to the hostel and got our bags! We got ice cream/smoothies and headed to the airport!

What I can say about this weekend:

It was an amazing last trip to take! The weather was great, and the people were so kind. I love Spain and never knew that much about it until visiting! I had no expectations going in on the trip, but I’ve come out of it with very positive thoughts about Spain. I’m really happy I took this weekend to see my best friend’s home for the semester and can’t wait to land back at mine in an hour!
