Visiting Julia in Barcelona!

I left the dorms this morning at 8:15 am for Barcelona! I’m traveling there by myself and meeting up with a friend who left yesterday. The most exciting part of this trip is getting to see Julia’s home! I will be able to see her, her mom, and her brother (and his fiancée- she’s wonderful too)! I AM SO HAPPY I CANNOT STOP SMILING! Jumily (Julia and my joke couple name) will finally be back together again!

I’m on the plane typing this first part! Everything went well getting to the flight. I met a nice boy named Jay who is studying in Prague, and is visiting Barcelona this weekend as his last weekend of travel! He also goes to Loyola in Chicago, which is my favorite big city in the States! I love meeting new people while traveling.

So we just flew over the Swiss alps and I couldn’t be happier! That just motivated me even more to come back and ski there!

I landed, and I couldn’t get wifi, so I hopped on a bus, hoping it was the right one, and headed off into the city! I also couldn’t get wifi on the free wifi bus, so I ended up just looking lost, and a nice young man helped me find my hostel. I didn’t really realize how dumb that was of me to give him my address, but he was working and saw me standing there, so lost, so he left the restaurant and walked me to my hostel. He looked up the directions on his phone since he has service here! What a kind soul.

Taylor Q (little Tay – different than the usual roommate Taylor) and I were finally together and put all of my stuff away. We rented bikes and biked down to the markets on the marina! I bought a tapestry and a couple of gifts for friends! Biking was interesting but absolutely enjoyable! We are going to do it again on Sunday!

We biked to a food market and bought all different types of things to share and ate a fast lunch! Then I went back to the hostel to change and meet with Julia and her family!

Tay and I ended up being late meeting up with Julia, but once we got there, we all went and got a drink! wow was so nice seeing her family. They are such a blessing in my life!

Tay and I ended up leaving late for the bike rental, so we BOOKED IT through the city and managed to get them back at exactly 8 pm, which is when they were due!

We then walked and went to buy a bottle of wine and watch the sunset from the hostel rooftop! Taylor went downstairs to go to the bathroom, and they closed to roof top right after she left. I was stuck up there for 20 minutes, and nobody would listen to her to come and get me down, but she was locked out! It was pretty crazy!

After the roof, we all drank downstairs with a group of boys from England and Christine (someone Taylor met earlier that day)! It was fun, and we decided to hop into the hostel bus to a club, which was only 4 euros. We clubbed at shoko which is huge, and you enter on the street, and the back door is literally on the beach. In the middle of clubbing, we just went outside, sat on the beach, talked, and had a beer. It was so cool!

We went back inside and danced until 4 am, and had an amazing night 😊
