So last Friday, I took my fourth trip to the doctor because I did not feel well. My throat hurt, and I couldn’t swallow! He gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way home to rest and feel better.

Saturday, I woke up, and my tonsils had turned white. I mean, they were completely covered in white and swollen! I could not talk or swallow. It had gotten much worse than the first time I went. I tried to sleep it off until Sunday, and it was even worse on Sunday!!!

So Sunday, I took a trip to the hospital. The first hospital pricked my finger, used cameras to see down my throat and nose, and they told me that I needed to go to an infectious disease hospital.

I made my way to the second hospital. Luckily, I had Lucie with me. She is an ISA staff member (and close friend) who has been going through this entire journey with me!

The second hospital was either going to admit me or try to give me a different type of antibiotic. They ended up giving me shots of penicillin in my butt and the. 10 days’ worth of pills of penicillin. I had to go back for three days to get the butt shots, and they helped me so much! I had a good recovery, and I was still able to go to Croatia on Wednesday! 😊
