Friday night:
We made it!! Brandon, Taylor, & I landed in Paris about eight hours ago and are currently dying of exhaustion in the hostel beds. We are all sick too, so we are trying to catch up on sleep for a night.
The hostel we are in is pretty nice and has a really fun bar connected to the lobby. We ate dinner there tonight after checking in and getting settled. Both of them ate burgers, but I had a really good Mexican-themed salad!

We walked around for a couple of hours and visited Montmartre, which is a giant hill that overlooks the city of Paris! You can see the Eiffel Tower from the top of it. It was so beautiful!
At the top of the hill (facing the other direction) is a beautiful, massive church calledthe Basilica of Sacre-Coeur. We went inside it, and I was in awe! It was HUGE and absolutely stunning. It was the perfect thing for us to do with a small amount of time in our evening. We then sat on the steps of the church and listened to French performers sing and play guitar while overlooking Paris! What a great way to start the trip.

We also ate some crepes at the bottom of the hill, which are to die for! I had mine with Nutella and bananas. My stomach hurt so bad afterwards (due to my never getting to eat gluten), but it was totally worth the pain! Ah, I want to eat a million more!

Also, there are so many different people here! I’ve never been the minority anywhere, so it’s kind of interesting for us, but I love experiencing new things!! Except today I was trying to ignore a group of black guys trying to talk to us about buying bracelets, and one grabbed me really hard, and I sounded mean, but I yelled, “Don’t touch me!” It was kind of scary being circled like that by a bunch of people who barely speak English, but he let go of me the second I yelled that. Tay and I try to avoid getting into that situation as much as possible.
~Also, we saw military men walking around with machine guns, and they looked very intense. We don’t see much of the things going on with ISIS in Prague, but traveling everywhere else, it is much more visible. Don’t worry, I still feel safe here, traveling, and everything.
When we got back to the hostel tonight, we went down to the club, thinking that everyone was allowed in it. We walked straight in and started eating all of the free food and drinks! After we ate almost half of it (opps), the bartender called Brandon over and told him it was a private French party! I’m still laughing because we would be the group that crashes a party on our first night in France and gets kicked out!
I know the pictures are not too great on this blog, but I’ll upload my camera ones once I get back to Prague! I’m about to fall asleep, but I’m so excited to explore the city more tomorrow!
